Why Did I Start Caboose?

My philosophy is that most cyclists don’t need bespoke personalised training programs that often cost £100+ per month. However, training plans provided by platforms like Zwift do not provide realistic sessions or some of the training fundamentals.

I believe there is a middle ground. Significantly cheaper training plans, still with some flexibility, while also being built with achievable training sessions.

Most cyclists aren’t at the level requiring bespoke training programs. To get to a level where coaching and these programs become worthwhile, it takes significant time and commitment. Most cyclist are either on their journey towards getting to this level or are in a place where they simply want to get the best out of themselves with the time they have.

Does that mean you can’t benefit from having a program to follow? No. But do you need to spend potentially £100s a month on one? Absolutely not.

Who am I?

Caboose Cycle Coaching is the culmination of 10+ years of my road racing experience including including national-level and international races and my passion for cycling coaching.

During that time I gained my 1st Category licence, raced in National Champs, multiple National Series rounds, The Rás Tailteann and the Island Games for the Isle of Man. Throughout this time, I have always studied or worked full-time and for the majority, also set up my own training programs.

What does this mean? I’m a cyclist who understands how to maximise training when other things in life take priority or training time is limited.

I have previously provided 1-to-1 personalised coaching to several riders I’ve known personally or through acquaintances, but Caboose Cycle Coaching is me finally committing to actively offering training support.
